I got hooked on talking drums when I was in the Peace Corps in Senegal. I actually took lesson while there but didn't get too serious. Back in the States I found a local drum group that gets together at fairs and such so I started playing again. After getting caught in the rain one evening, the drum I brought back from Africa was not working so well so I bought this talking drum from Lark in the Morning. Maybe I was expecting too much but it just wasn't the drum sound I was used to. It works just fine but I had my old drum repaired and I like it better than this new one. No worries though as now I can loan the talking drum to a friend.
