• Excerpt from Comparative View of the Public Finances: From the Beginning to the Close of the Late AdministrationThis Work was published about two years ago, with the View of continuing my account of the finances to the close of the late ad ministration. but being written immediately after the resignation of the minister, it was hardly possible that it should comprehend the whole of his financial Operations, and therefore my chief object in the present edi tion has been, to introduce such further statements as should serve to give a more enlarged View of them, and to shew in its full extent the distress which they have en tailed upon this Country.
