Easy to like. Very strong middle tones, crisp treble and enough bass for a picker. Very easy on the hands, easy to reach and sustain. I like the small size compared to a full dreadnought.....which is an entirely different experience.

The 183CE is worth the extra cost and a safe investment if you can find one. It goes way beyond reason in terms of trim level....almost too far, but it is loaded. Lots of value for the money. The cost leaves some room for custom pins and adjustments if you're into that. The trim on this instrument is excessive, gaudy etc. and the orange gloss finish a bit too much for me but I love the guitar. Buy a 143 or a 163 and avoid all the mother of pearl and abalone. Happy pickin. Sambo
