"...if this sign is carried, one will never lose one's way in storms or bad weather, even when the way is not known." —Huld Manuscript he Vegvísir, or Norse compass, is an Icelandic magical stave, which, according to the Huld manuscript, protects one from losing their way in bad weather. Encircling the Vegvísir is the runic transliteration of the Icelandic phrase, "Ég stoppar ekki Þegar Þreyttur, ég stoppar Þegar ég er búinn", which translates to, "I do not stop when tired, I stop when done." The coin is struck in 1/2 troy ounce of .999 Fine Silver. 3.3 cm diameter Includes 30" leather cord which can easily be retied if a shorter length is desired. The coin is struck with an incuse design, in which the letters are lowered rather than raised. This way the lettering will stay dark even if the coin is carried daily. The coin is double sided with the same design on both sides. Antiqued and hand waxed to look amazing. Designed to be a long lasting gift, perfect for a significant other, family, friends, or coworkers. Made in the USA using traditional hand engraving techniques, solid metal, and antique equipment. Shire Post Mint is commited to keeping old world coinmaking craft alive
