• First highly recommend taking plenty of clear pictures of your original fan - from multiple angles - while both up in the ceiling before you've removed it - and then from front and back and multiple angles once it's removed from the ceiling before you start your new replacement assembly. If the motor won't turn because the impeller is positioned too high, the flats on the shaft need to be smoothed out so the fan is a little further down, or the excess length on the shaft needs to be removed, in short, the shaft needs to be adjusted to the original dimensions. If it won't suck in air, the motor may be turned the wrong way, just remove two screws and take the guts out of the motor and turn it over.
