Field peas are very good for cover crops or green manure crops. Spring peas can be harrowed to reseed once the crop's seed matures, providing two pea crops for the price of one. Builds tilth, organic matter, and thus humus to the soil Field peas have a wide variety of uses: cover crops, cereal grain, green chop, sprouting, wildlife mixes and can be used in bird seed mixes as well. Dundale peas are a natural nitrogen-fixater which can cut down significantly on your use of fertilizers. The thick foliage breaks down easily enhancing the quality of your soil. Spring field peas can be used for high protein domestic animal forage as well as a wildlife attractant. Seeding rate: 75 to 100 lbs per acre or 5 lbs per 1,000 square feet.
