• Clarkia has beautiful pastel flowers are easily grown from wild flower seeds across the United States. Originating in California this variety now produces an array of pink, salmon and hues of purple. Colors are most striking when planted in groups. Clarkia is an 18 - 30 inch tall annual growing in USDA zones 3 - 10. This wildflower gets up to 3 feet tall and blooms from May through July. Tolerates a wide variety of soil conditions but does not like heavy clay. Sowing Rate: 1 ounce per 1,000 square feet or 2 1/2 pounds per acre Sow wild flower seeds 1/16" deep once soil reaches at least 65 degrees. Keep moist until plants are established. Plant in groups and thin to 6 inches apart . This annual will grow quickly, blooms heavily, and then dies with frost. Will reseed itself if wildflower seeds fall on to barren ground. Will grow in full sun to light shade in all regions of the U.S. Extremely easy to grow and actually prefers dry conditions, but is adaptable. Blooms in just 8 - 10 weeks after seeding.
