FERROFIRE superb ferro rod striker is made of carbon alloy tool steel, generate hot spark shower by striking a ferrocerium rod, especially a ferro rod made by FERROFIRE. The serrated end to make wood tinder or small curls of soft ferrocerium that works as megnesium, you don't need to prepare megnesium as tinder. This striker has some teeth to grind off some of the magnesium and wood shavings, the 4 edges are nice and sharp for a good, beefy spark. It throws them very nicely. SA02 is more comfortable for big hands, the hole for attaching it to various other parts of your gear or tools. Not too large or small or painful to grip after multiple failed attempts to start a fire. These are big enough that they’re easy to use while wearing gloves – no need to expose skin to the cold in order to get warm. High grade polished, well made shape for easily combined with a lanyard, a must for any pack or camper. 2-pack is definitely nice as well. These can literally be lifesavers out in the wild. Truely perfect mate of FERROFIRE soft ferro rods, using some 3rd party rods and it works great as well! Not much can ordinarily be said about a steel striker, but these are not ordinary. The serrated end on these ferro rod strikers is good for scraping off Magnesium shavings. They’re equally good at shredding fluff from tinder, even good enough to notch small twigs for making a snare. That edge makes a *big*, fat spark, too, nice and hot to get everything ignited within a strike or two.
