• Dahlia germination and growth are very easy even for a beginner. Prefer well draining soil, able to handle full sun, like to be mulched and fertilised. Plant in spring for beautiful blooms from summer to fall. Perennial plant, in most climates dahlia bulbs will bloom year after year. Colder climates may require digging of the bulbs with storage each year. This bloom is truly beautiful and will brighten any garden. Dahlias are loved for their long flowering season, which often lasts until the first frosts, and come in a huge variety of flower colour and shapes. Grow them as part of a late-summer planting scheme or as a cut flower. It produces decent quality blooms that are equally at home in the garden or on the show bench. This tuber is surplus to my needs as I start to plan things out for next year. In the deep south, plant dahlias in July for wonderful blooms in fall and most of winter.
