I felt this to be more within my powers, and more likely to bring out interesting incidents in the lives of our esteemed public men, than if I were to attempt to write a history chronologically as the events occurred. It appeared to me that this would be more interesting to the reader and serve a better purpose, and to test it I published each Reminiscence as written in the columns of the colonial Press.
