• Compatibility: This Pentair temperature sensor will work on Pentair Mastertemp 400 parts along with all the other BTU's. It is also compatible with the Sta Rite heater and the Pentair Mastertemp 125. E01 Error: You should consider changing this temperature sensor in you system when the Pentair Mastertemp Control Board gives an E01 error. This means the temp sensor is bad and needs replacement. Location: The thermistor is located within the heater on the black manifold next to the other sensors. The two wires connecting to the sensor will be plugged in when opening. Purpose: The purpose of this sensor is to measure the temperature of the water within the manifold. This is to ensure system safety. The water temperature should not exceed 104 degreed Fahrenheit. How to Install: Turn off the pump and all the electricity going to the pool heater. Disconnect the two wires of the sensor and unthread the sensor out. Plug your new one in and redo the connections.
