So I bought this book and it sat on my dresser for about a year. I recently picked it up and wish I would have started it earlier. First of all it is highly interesting--who knew how many petroleum-related products were used in conventional AND organic farming? Secondly--it is long and is taking me months to get through but it I almost think it is better to read it slowly as there is a wealth of information that could be missed in a quick pass. Finally, I have lost five pounds since starting the book as I am so grossed out about the variety of paths food takes to our table. If you've got some time--like while you are waiting for your organic free-range chickens in the backyard to reach maturity--read it.
